Visual communication

Sensitive and authentic
With tenderness and humour, I give complex human experiences a clear, warm and honest visual voice to move people and help them connect.
I believe in illustration and graphic storytelling as ways to inhabit our emotions, understand other people’s realities and connect with one another beyond our differences.
“I illustrate to communicate the complex and diverse emotional reality of people who are imperfectly human beings, like myself”

The H of Hands-On Making
Art labs for families
Workshops and activities for adults and children aged 5 and over who want to enjoy creating alongside other families.
Experiment, think, talk and learn by sharing ideas, successes, mistakes and creative experiences through artistic processes and techniques, without judgement, but with plenty of meaning.
We create to build communities and connect people of different ages, because everyone has something to contribute and their own way of doing it.

Everyone contributes in
their own way:
Balancing challenge and discovery with care, without judgement or prejudice, to freely experiment with ideas, techniques and materials.

To create together:
Bringing the complexity of art and its language into everyday life. Sharing experiences where observing, talking, analysing, planning, imagining, making mistakes, sketching, creating, reflecting and sharing become part of your family’s common language.

Art with meaning:
Taking part in activities where enjoyment, ideas, techniques, learning and communication go hand in hand throughout the whole creative process.
“Because thinking visually and expressing ourselves through images are much more enjoyable with a tribe we trust to share them with”

With the experience and sensitivity to support people living with mental distress
I design and lead art workshops and visual creation labs for social and cultural organisations working in mental health and psychosocial disability.
I create nurturing spaces where people can experiment with images, materials and ideas; engage with others as a group; express themselves without judgement or haste; and participate in the way that best suits each individual.
Here, art is more than an activity. It is a way to share, discover and make sense of what we observe, feel, express and create while developing a voice of our own.

Everyone contributes in their
own way:
Adapting the challenge, discovery and participation so each person can contribute according to their possibilities at each moment. Recognising the value of their participation beyond appearance or final results.

Creating together:
Exploring artworks, ideas, uses and techniques from the visual arts, while each person builds their own voice and finds a personal way to take part and express themselves within a caring community.

Art with meaning:
Taking part in activities where enjoyment, ideas, techniques, learning and communication go hand in hand throughout the whole creative process.

A warm welcome:
Creating safe spaces where we can feel accepted as we are and as we feel at each moment, within a creative, caring and respectful community.

Sensitivity and a fierce commitment to care:
An artistic practice based on shared learning, supporting people’s wellbeing and their ability to communicate.
I do not practise art therapy
My role is to support people and help build artistic and creative communities through art.
I bring knowledge, sensitivity and experience to creative practice with this community.
I help people think, express themselves and communicate through visual and artistic language as a tool for human connection.
“Discovering how visual artists communicate and learning to express ourselves through visual language helps us build a voice of our own and share it in a safe and caring space”
